NEW - Halloween Festive House CONTEST: October 1-28, 2013

Show your Halloween spirit by entering our first ever Halloween House Decorating contest. You can use lights, sound, live actors, animation and lots of imagination. Remember, more is not necessarily better. Pre-registration is required for this contest (open to Addison residents only) and participation is FREE. The Winner will receive an award for the Best Halloween Festive House in Addison! Judging will take place on Tuesday, October 29 between 6:30-7:30pm. All entries MUST register before Monday, October 28. Winners were announced Wed. Oct. 30.

Kelly Miller Circus: Saturday, September 28, 2013

Come out to Centennial Park to experience America's One Ring Wonder: The Kelly Miller Circus. This year's show features elephants, tigers and horses, and a cast of international circus stars under a beautiful circus big top. The tent raising itself is a great free show that will take place at 9:00 a.m. and the public is invited. Spring into action this Fall with the Addison Park District as we plant tulips and daffodils. Fall-planted bulbs produce the first blooms of next year's season. the bulbs spend the winter making roots and come up early in the spring. So if you think that Fall is the time to stop gardening, think again - it's bulb planting time! Volunteer groups are asked to call (630) 233-7275 to sign up for this free event.

 

FISHING DERBY: Sunday, September 29, 2013Fishing Derby

The Addison Park District in cooperation with the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County invite you to this annual event held at Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve's Grove Lake. The pond is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish, rainbow trout and sunfish. There is a participation fee for this event and bait and goody bags will be provided. An awards ceremony will take place following the event at 10:15 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended.

 

Candy Carnival

CANDY CARNIVAL: Monday, October 30, 2013

Kids 10 years of age and younger are invited for a night of Halloween fun at Centennial Gym. There are a variety of games to play with treats for prizes and each person will receive an extra treat for coming in costume! Children must be accompanied by an adult during this event. Pre-registration is recommended.

 

 

Turkey Trot

TURKEY TROT: Thursday, November 28, 2013

Walkers and runners of all ages are invited to participate in this annual event held on Thanksgiving morning at Community Park. Each participant is eligible to win a frozen turkey by accurately predicting their finishing time for the 1 – 5 mile course. Kids 12 and younger may participate in the Drumstick Dash at 8:45, preceding the race start time at 9:00 a.m. This race is not chip-timed and timing devices of any kind are not allowed.
