TOT PUCKS BEGINNER

This class is for the beginner hockey player with no experience or formal class instruction. Skater will learn proper balance and skating skills and techniques to be able to begin stick handling and shooting as well as skating skills to advance to game play. Equipment not required.

PRE-HOCKEY

Prerequisite Tot Pucks or Young Pucks Advanced This class is the next step to becoming an official hockey player. Players are required to wear hockey equipment at this level. Skaters will use a stick and puck learning handling and shooting techniques in small game play and drills. (equipment required *see pro shop for details)

TOT BEGINNER

This is where the beginner skater with no skating experience or formal class instruction will begin. Skaters will learn to fall down and get up, march in place and move, beginning 2 foot glides and standstill, forward and backward sizzles. Skills will be learned in a fun class environment using games to encourage the young skater.

YOUTH BEGINNER

(Pre-Alpha) (Basic 1/2)

This class is where the skater with no skating or formal skating experience will start. Skaters will learn to properly fall and get up. Forward skating skills and balance will be achieved, as well as one foot and two foot glides and stopping. This class may be further divided by age and ability.

Prerequisite Bronze Level (Beta/Gamma)(Basic 5/6)

Skaters will learn advanced backward skating skills, turns and beginning edge work, backward stroking and crossovers, t-stops, 2 foot edges. outside three turns, mohawks, hockey stop and tap toe both directions.

GOLD LEVEL

Prerequisite Silver Level (Delta/FS1) (Basic7/8)

This is the last level before the skater will enter freestyle skating levels. Skaters will learn forward inside and outside edges, backward 2ft. edges, bunny hops, lunges, beginning straight line spiral both legs, beginning waltz jump from a standstill, beginning 2 ft spin from a standstill, forward to backward transitions, also forward inside and backward inside mohawks.

FIGURE SKATING

Prerequisite Gold Level

These class levels are for the skater who has mastered their basic skating skills. Skaters will learn more advanced jumps, spins and footwork. Please refer to figure skating brochure for all class information.
