TINY TOTS CAMP

Campers will spend their time making arts and crafts, playing a variety of indoor/outdoor games, swimming at the APD Spray Park and much more! Campers will go on field trips bi-weekly. Children will visit the APD’s Splash Pad, weather permitting. Snacks will be provided during camp. Field trip every other Wednesday. Keep your little one busy this summer!

KIDS CAMP

Campers will spend their day participating in a variety of sports, games, cookouts, making arts and crafts, swimming at the Family Aquatic Center and much more! Campers will go on weekly field trips. Centennial & Community campers will both go on field trips together on Thursdays.

WHITE SOX LITTLE SLUGGERS CAMP

The purpose of the Little Sluggers program is to introduce this age group to the game of baseball. In addition to focusing on the basics of the game, players will learn that practice leads to improvement and the best way to have more fun playing baseball. Our student-to-instructor ratio of 10:1 or less assures every player of getting the attention they deserve.

NATURE CAMP

This camp’s all about nature! Go on hikes, play fun environment games and make nature-themed art projects. Search for insects and animal tracks. Camp meets at the Army Trail Nature Center. Meet at Centennial Park if there is inclement weather. Field trips on Fridays. Each week has a different theme. (No camp July 5)

LACROSSE CAMP

Learn lacrosse, the fastest game on two feet, from the best in the sport! True Lacrosse will be hosting a summer camp at APD. Jake Deane and Mike Gabel, professional lacrosse players from the Chicago Machine will be teaching your kids skills and drills they need to take their play to the next level, including proper cradling, passing, shooting and groundball techniques, as well as clearing, riding, fastbreaks, extra-man offense, man-down defense and more! Players will participate in exciting games and scrimmages. In addition, all campers will receive a True Lacrosse penny. Equipment will be provided or can be rented through True Lacrosse.

JUNIOR GOLF CAMPS - FOUR-DAY

Junior Camp I: Junior Camp I is for the beginning to intermediate golfer. Fundamentals, rules and learning to enjoy the game will be emphasized. Four-day golf camps are 60 minutes each day.

Golf II Camp: Designed for the intermediate to advanced junior golfer that has completed Golf I and is familiar with the basics. Emphasis will be placed on solid swing improvements and playing strategy.

Golf III Camp: For the junior golfer whom has graduated from Golf II and is ready to have fun and play golf. A review of scoring shots, swing fundamentals, rules and golf course competition.

KID-FIT SUMMER CAMP

This camp features fun, high-energy routines such as group fitness, dance-based workouts, dodge ball and more. Campers will have the opportunity to use Club Fitness’ full line of fitness equipment including treadmills, ellipticals and weight equipment. Camp will conclude with a pool party. On the last day of camp, all participants will receive a junior membership to Club Fitness (good for one full year) or a free personal training session if already a member (a $45-$55 value). POM & CHEER CAMP

Your daughter will love this class where kids can get a taste of Cheerleading and Poms. Learn how to to cheer, stunt, tumble and dance! Girls will have a great time learning simple cheers and a special poms routine. No tryouts required! At the last class, we will perform for the parents.

C.A.M.P. FOR KIDS

This fun 3-week C.A.M.P. (Creating Art from Many Places) will take advantage of the great outdoors this summer! Kids will create 3-D and 2-D pieces of artwork using nature. The kids will take mini field trips to the Morton Arboretum, Nature Center & Zoo for inspiration. We will then recycle those old t-shirts (got to be green) by tye-dying them and transferring their drawing onto a shirt. Students will create a hand built pot out of clay. They will go on a scavenger hunt for embellishments, gifts from mother nature. Kids will take home wonderful souvenirs from this C.A.M.P.

VOLLEYKIDZ CAMP

Volleykidz is an introductory volleyball class. This camp teaches the fundamentals of passing, setting and serving using a light volleyball. The lesson plan will improve each child’s hand-eye and left-right coordination through the use of gross motor skills, practice drills and fun games. Kids registered prior to camp receive a new lightweight EVP volleyball.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Play indoors in a great camp directed by volleyball pros! This four-day camp will focus on the fundamentals and advanced skills for passing, setting, serving and spiking. Volleyball games will be organized and game strategies taught to provide students improved techniques for their volleyball season. The lesson plan emphasizes the use of self-mastery training to help each student reach a new level of play.

SPIKING 101 CAMP

Spiking 101 is for players who wish to learn and improve proper arm swing, footwork and development of jumping skills. Drills keep the player focused on reach and power. Our summer camp is designed for children who are new to gymnastics and for children experienced in the sport. The goal of this camp will be to improve existing skills and learn new skills through a fun and positive teaching style from our experienced adult staff. A camp day will be like this:
